The Wire: The Complete Series

The Wire was a brilliant TV series (which originally ran on HBO from 2002 through 2008.) Not only was it exceedingly engrossing & entertaining I also believe it to be extremely enlightening about what’s really going on in cities around the United States (it’s set specifically in Baltimore but I think the messages from this show are applicable all around the US.)

This was a big concept series where every episode adds to an overall story being told from many different perspectives (some of the perspectives we see in this program are those of the police, the politicians, the criminals, the teachers, and the journalists.) Every episode is like a piece in the puzzle that is the complete series of The Wire.

And this is why I highly recommend buying the complete series on DVD. For one thing it’s a much better deal than buying the seasons one by one (you will save about $80.) For another, I pretty much guarantee that if you watch the first season you will want to watch the rest of the seasons so you might as well go all in from the get go.
