Breaking Bad on DVD

Recently I was looking for a new show to get into as Lost is now over and there’s no new Dexter until fall.
I’m pretty picky about what I spend my time watching. In my opinion about 99% of what’s on television is just formulaic garbage that would just be a complete waste of time to watch, so I wasn’t real hopeful that I would be able to find anything that was really worth watching but then I heard about Breaking Bad and I thought it sounded like it was worth checking out. I’m definitely glad that I did.
This is a very original, interesting series. It’s unbelievably “edge of your seat” dramatic due to extremely intense situations that the characters get themselves into and the constant surprises that the show throws at you. This is not the kind of series where you know what’s going to happen next and it’s definitely not the kind of “formulaic” show that I was complaining about above.
You should do everything you can to avoid spoilers. You would be doing yourself a great disservice to read about what’s going on later in the series when you’re just getting started with it. This is a series that deserves to be watched fresh. I may sound a bit hyperbolic but I’m extremely impressed by what I’ve seen of this show so far (I just watched episode 9 of season 2 last night, by the way.)
So far it’s all been “one big story.” Everything leads to everything else. There is no wasted moments in this show. It’s all important and it’s all part of the story. I think that’s part of what makes it such an exciting show to watch. You never feel like they’re just filling up time until something happens. Something is always happening with Breaking Bad.
Season three is not yet available on DVD (it just ended a few weeks ago on TV.)
